Waterdog Surf was borne from Waterdog Engineering Inc. so innovation is our core competency.  Our founding team has developed products for an array of industries, including the surf industry.  Some of the surf related products that Waterdog has assisted with or developed are the Wet Suit Hanger Rinser, a hanger that adapts to a hose to facilitate the process of rinsing out your wetsuit, and the Hatchet Fin, an innovative longboard fin designed by Scott Rutherford.

We are continually evaluating the potential of new products that can make surfing more enjoyable.  If you have an idea, submit it here .  We'll contact you if we think it has potential.                                            

Quads, Thrusters, Eggs, Fishes, Concave, Channels, Love Handles, Slugs, Bonzers, Mini-gun, Longboards, Fun Boards, Shortboards, Hybrids, ...argh!  It can be really fun to experiment with equipment and try new things and we are big proponents of having a diverse quiver, but what does it all mean?  Waterdog seeks to evaluate the performance characteristics of surfboards, with the hope of correlating them to physical characteristics.  This ultimately will allow surfers to make more informed choices about their purchases and allow shapers to more rapidly innovate equipment.  Ultimately this will allow surfers to experience a more connected ride.

Some performance characteristics would be:

How well does it paddle?  How well does it duck dive?  How loose is the board?  How fast is the board?  How well does it catch waves (and in what type of conditions)?

Some physical characteristics:

How long, wide, thick?  Concave?  Style (fish, egg, slug, shortboard, etc.)? Fin setup (Bonzer, quad, thruster...etc.)?
